Il est plus pratique d’utiliser un TRX ayant une prise packet à l’arrière de l’émetteur, mais il est aussi possible d’utiliser un Baofeng ou un module DRA818. La portée restera alors locale autour de votre habitation. Une fois le point d’accès installé, vous devez utiliser un TRX de poche ou autre pour commencer les QSO.
Cependant si quelqu’un autour de chez vous se manifeste sur votre répéteur, Il y a peu de chance qu’il vous entende avec un pocket, puisque la transmission est simplex. D’où l’intérêt d’installer ce matériel dans un radio club utilisant un transpondeur ou un relais.
